Introduction

These are the public pages of the Early Modern Texts Forum. This interdisciplinary project employs an innovative research forum called a Virtual Research Environment (VRE) which allows researchers to enhance their work using new technologies. VRE technologies can transform research by allowing scholars to collaborate and exchange ideas more effectively. The technology also offers new ways of working with key electronic resources, such as Early English Books Online and Eighteenth Century Collections Online. For more information see What is a VRE? and About the Project.

Activity

The VRE is the outcome of projects funded by JISC and the British Academy. The first of these created a VRE for early modern political discourse, based around a collaboratively taught MA Programme. The second established an ongoing virtual research group (see below). The VRE has also experimented with undergraduate teaching modules and a pilot framework for research and teaching [eTexts Project].

Virtual Research Group: The research group meets regularly through the VRE, which is accessible by password only [users may enter here: http://vre.earlymoderntexts.org/portal/]. For public pages outlining some of the VRG's activity please click on the link at the beginning of this paragraph. For enquiries about the VRG please contact Mark Knights [m.j.knights@warwick.ac.uk]

Please use the blue horizontal navigation bar to find out more about these activities.
